We’ve been informed today of the release of a new ready-to-drink (RTD) milk protein supplement from My Protein. The new product is called MP MAX ONE Promilk RTD and is available to buy as a single ready to drink bottle, or a pack of eight bottles. In fact they look more like milk cartons but we’ve listed them as bottles for clarity sake!
Only My Protein will be stocking these new products, but you can see that when compared against other products in the “milk isolate” category, this product comes out top.

I recently bought some more creatine monohydrate powder as I’d ran out of my previous stock, which I’d bought from My Protein. Amazingly a 500 gram pouch lasted me from January until the end of August, though I think some of the reason for this is that I wasn’t taking enough. I’ve since reviewed my creatine intake and decided to take a bigger dose each day!
I searched through our results and the cheapest creatine monohydrate powder I could find was Optimum Health Ultimate Creatine. The result shows that there may have been some cheaper alternatives from Bulk Powders, but when you factor in their delivery charge, the price would have been more.
We will be implementing delivery prices to our system in the next few days, such that you will be able to perform price comparisons including the cost of delivery, which should make the system more useful!

Sooner or later someone is bound to ask why we’re all that bothered about finding discount supplements. So we thought we’d beat them to it and provide the answer.
It’s simple really. We’re both in our 30’s with three mortgages, two marriages, one kid, one dog and one divorce between us. Throw in a little debt for seasoning and you get the flavour of our lives.
We’ve also realised that our geek lifestyle has been slowly contributing to the steady loss of muscle and equally steady accumulation of fat.
The answer? More exercise! So we both returned to weight training after (far to many) years off. We also took a long hard look at our diets and recognised the need for improvement, not least of which was more protein to help build and maintain muscle mass.
So we started looking at protein shakes and found there are hundreds to choose from ranging in price from nearly £30/Kg to a more modest £6.50/Kg - hitting just about every other price point in between. Being frugal we wanted to find the best quality protein at the lowest price and it occurred to us that there was huge scope for a site to help atheletes find cheaper, alternates to the big brand supplements or just discount deals on the big brand supplements.

Another question today: is MyProtein Creapure any good?
Well we don’t know, we’ve never tried it. But checking out their site it seems that the selling point of Creapure® is that it is 99.99% pure Creatine, while other Creatines are usually around the 99.9% mark. In other words Creapure is 0.09% purer than regular Creatine Monohydrate. Honestly I’m not sure if that really makes a difference. I guess the answers is to give it a go and see for yourself.
What I can say however, is that MyProtein isn’t (at the time of writing) the cheapest supplier of Creapure. If you visit our Creapure page and order by Price / Quantity you can find out who is.

Launching the Discount Supplements Guide continues to be an educational experience for us. We never realised the supplements business was quite so big, had so many suppliers or so many products.
One product I’d never heard of is DL-Phenylalanine yet we’re already been asked “where can I buy DL-Phenylalanine in the UK” several times. Well, good news! We’re able to help, our DL-Phenylalanine (DLPA) page lists the UK based supplier that we have in our database.
If like me you’ve never heard of it then the Wikipedia page on DL-Phenylalanine explains that it is an amino acid marketed as a nutritional supplement for its supposed analgesic and antidepressant activities. You learn something new everyday!

Although we’re experienced entrepreneurs, launching the Discount Supplements Guide has taught us some new lessons about business. It’s also taught us something new about protein. Namely that us athletes (or wannabe athletes) aren’t the only people to use protein powders.
It seems that dedicated carp fishermen also like a bit of pea protein isolate, so much so that there’s been a steady stream of them visiting since we were mentioned on CarpForum.co.uk.
You learn something new every day….

Protein powders are probably the main supplement that most athletes use. We certainly wouldn’t be without them and finding the cheapest protein powder for our protein shakes was a key driver behind the idea of this site. Which is why you’ll find several hundred discount protein products listed on our discount protein page.
If like us you stick to whey protein powders then you’ll find a good selection of discounts on the whey protein page.

The latest issue of Muscle and Fitness arrived yesterday complete with a sample 25g bag of PhD Nutrition’s new addition to it’s Fat Loss Range - Diet Whey.
It’s a new Whey Protein blend intended to aid fat lass, as such it includes Whey Protein, Micellar Casein, CLA, L-Carnitine and Green Tea Extract. The sample attached to the magazine was white chocolate flavoured.
As supplements is our business we couldn’t wait to try it. Our verdict - excellent flavour, good texture, very drinkable. We like the idea - we’ll be buying some ourselves!
If you want to find the cheapest supplier then visit our PhD Nutrition Diet Whey page for the best offers.

Last month I foolishly ordered a 5Kg bag of My Protein Impact Whey that was Chocolate Mint flavoured. I’d tried a sample sachet a few months before and thought it was quite nice, but it turns out that I’m not actually all that keen on it. Much like Banana, Strawberry and Chocolate Nut it seems nice at first but after a few days of it I was having second thoughts.
So now I’ve brought some unflavoured whey to try. I figured I’d see how it tastes (like watery milk) as it’s cheaper (and after all we’re all about getting discount supplements) and I figured I could try adding my own flavourings.
So today I tried the unflavoured whey protein for the first time, it’s ok on it’s own, but as I’d just made a coffee I decided to throw some of that in. Turns out it’s awesome, like drinking a Latte! So I’ve now no need to visit Starbucks for my Latte and as a bonus my Latte now contains 25g of protein! Bonus!
